No matter how you slice it, Wayne County is a great place to go for pizza. Thin or thick crust, saucy or cheesy, loaded toppings or pepperoni only… you’ll find the perfect pie here.
For many Richmond residents, Pizza King reigns supreme as the hometown favorite, and anyone who’s grown up in the East Central Indiana region harbors fond memories of dining in the double-decker bus at the Clara’s location on N.W. 5th Street in Richmond. Calling back to the kitchen from the telephones stationed at each table to place your order is all part of the fun.

Another local dining landmark, the Red Front Pizza and Grill serves build-your-own pizzas and nearly a dozen specialty options in a fun sports-bar setting. A Richmond mainstay since 1976, Mercurio’s has amassed its own following of fans thanks to its carry-out menu of authentic Italian pizzas, pastas and hoagies. They’re only open Thursday through Saturday; catch ‘em when you can.

On Richmond’s west side, Mancino’s preps a mouthwatering menu of pizzas and “grinders” (toasted Italian sub sandwiches) on bread and dough made fresh daily. Galo’s Italian Grill puts an upscale spin on pizza by garnishing hand-stretched dough with gourmet toppings before tossing it into a wood-fired oven. Downtown, family-owned Suzie’s Pizza excels at East Coast-style pies featuring scratch-made sauce; available whole and by the slice if you’re in the market for a quick lunch or afternoon snack. And look for Bad Dad to bring its chef-driven artisan pizzas and craft beer lineup to a new Historic Depot District taproom late this spring.

Satisfying homemade pizza and breadsticks are the name of the game at Cambridge City’s Pizza 3.14 (pi = pie, get it?). As guests might expect from the name, hearty deep-dish is the way to go at Chicago’s Pizza. Admire the Indiana sports memorabilia décor and play some old-school arcade games while you wait for your order at Big Boyz Pizza.

The namesake pie at Americana Pizza in Centerville includes pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, peppers, onions, mushrooms and black olives. 5 Arch Brewing fires pizzas built on dough made daily from scratch and topped with some surprising ingredients like smoked pork, bramble jam, brie and honey.
