what’s new in Richmond / Wayne County for 2025
Richmond and Wayne County are ringing in 2025 with a fun new slate of restaurants, attractions and experiences to explore! Here are a few items to add to your to-do list this new year:
How sweet it is… at the I-70/U.S. 40 interchange, Uranus Fudge Factory launched in December with 8,000 square feet of space filled with zany merchandise, displays, sodas, candy, ice cream, chocolates, a fun vortex tunnel and 18 flavors of homemade fudge. For a different kind of sweet visit, Four Leaf Honey Farm on U.S. 227 just north of I-70 carries a selection of honey-based products and beekeeping supplies with guidance and instruction from third-generation beekeeper/owner Lance Alexander.
Hungry? Grab a table at Bad Dad Pizzeria & Taproom, opening in the spring in Richmond’s historic Depot District. Under the direction of head chef Korak Ladd, the kitchen plans to turn out Neapolitan-style pizzas, salads, fougasse and hoagies to accompany a selection of award-winning beers and craft cocktails. For a farm-to-table experience, head over to Roots Bistro on Richmond’s West Side. Roots Bistro serves up a selection of salads, soups, mac n cheese bowls, rice bowls, panini sandwiches and organic drinks – all free from corn syrup, preservatives or GMOs. If vino’s more to your taste, make a trip to Pilgrimage Winery & Vineyard in Cambridge City to sip a little artisanal red or white. Here, owners Scott and Emma Eckert (both proud veterans) tend 8.5 acres of Traminette, Golden Muscat, Chambourcin and other Indiana-hardy grape varieties. Before or after tasting, take a tour of the winery and admire the scenic property.
Last summer, Wayne County unveiled 11 new additions to its vibrant Murals Trail, bringing the grand total of large-scale public works up to 100+. A diverse roster of artists from across the country and around the world have contributed their talents to this unique regional attraction.

While you’re out and about, pop into the Joseph Moore Museum of Natural History on the Earlham College campus to see new live animal exhibits featuring a young boa constrictor and juvenile green iguana, turtles, bearded dragons and bioactive toads.
A local favorite store has a brand-new home. Look for Luxe Lizzie Boutique in its new spot on Centerville’s Main Street when the popular shop reopens in mid-January following the move.
