Wayne County’s Murals Festival

Ten fresh murals will be created alongside a community mural inviting residents to join in the creation process. Dates:  July 10th – Artists can begin work on their murals. August 31st – Mural must be completed. Judging to begin Sept 10th with announcement of winners (1st – 3rd place) by early October. ***A little background on Richmond/Wayne County’s Murals. Beginning in 1997, Richmond began to commemorate its jazz and blues heritage with the completion of several musical murals on various buildings throughout the community. Cambridge City artist, Pamela Bliss, painted these murals. Wayne County has more than eighty murals. With the completion of murals this summer, Wayne County will have nearly 100 murals. Artists as far away as Italy have worked their magic to portray beauty and culture throughout the county.
