When the weather is nice and you’re craving adventure, consider one of our many themed trails! All brochures are available at the Old National Road Welcome Center located at 5701 National Rd. E, Richmond, IN. Also, don’t forget to ask about our Passport to Savings card that’s good for two years. This card provides discounts at various local shops, attractions, and eateries across Wayne County!
The Heartland Wine and Ale Trail – Sip and savor local flavor on the Wine and Ale Trail that features local wineries and breweries in eastern Indiana and western Ohio.
The Chocolate Trail – During your day trip or overnight stay, stop by the Old National Road Welcome Center and ask for the “Chocolate Passport.” This magical passport takes you around Wayne County to several locally owned businesses and gets you free chocolate samples! Yum!
Antique Alley One & Two – Wayne County, Indiana is one of the premiere antique destinations in the Midwest. Explore our rustic side with Antique Alley 1 and 2. These two trails with take you through the twists and turns of Wayne County and parts of western Ohio all while leading you to your next great find at one of our many locally owned antique shops.
If the weather is rainy, don’t worry! There are plenty of indoor activities, as well!
For the sports lover, Wayne County is home to the Indiana Football Hall of Fame. If vintage automobiles are more your style, ogle at the vintage Model-T cars found at the Model-T Museum or reminisce at the turn-of-the-century Richmond made cars at the Wayne County Historical Museum.

Wayne County has a grand selection of the arts and performing arts. Explore the beauty of Wayne County with the Secret Garden Tour or observe masterpieces at Richmond Art Museum, who recently celebrated their 120th anniversary. Watch actors and actresses pull together Sister Act at the Richmond Civic Theater this August or watch a live performance by the Nettle Creek Players.

Wayne County has just the festival for the drama-lovers. June 15 through the 30 is our Richmond Shakespeare Festival at the Starr Gennett Factory! If you’re more of a foodie, consider our Taste of Italy Italian Street Festival in the Historic Depot District where you can indulge in the local flavors.

July brings about two major events: the Model T Homecoming on July 8-13 and the Hagerstown Flying Circus on July 17!
Finish off the summer strong in August with Hagerstown’s Jubilee Days on August 18-19 or Centerville’s Archway Days on August 24-25! Explore local vendors and unique flavors while taking in Wayne County culture.
