Let’s taco ‘bout how great the food is in Wayne County
With a wide variety of Mexican restaurants to choose from, you don’t have to limit your tacos to Tuesdays only in Richmond and Wayne County! Whether you like ‘em soft or crunchy, spicy or mild, Tex-Mex or street style, these local joints are cooking up some tasty south-of-the-border eats.
On Main Street in Richmond, humble El Trebol Mexican Market and Restaurant serves up authentic Mexican tacos, along with burritos, tortas, tamales and some of the best guacamole in town. A little further to the east on U.S. 40, family-owned Lulu’s Tacos keeps hungry patrons coming back to enjoy traditional corn tortillas filled with flavorful shredded beef, carnitas, chicken and beef tongue washed down with a margarita “tower.”

The newest restaurant in town, Victor’s Mexican Taqueria Bar & Grill serves up large portions of your favorite dishes including their popular birria pizza! New as of last summer, Carlo’s Cuisine Family Restaurant caters to all kinds of appetites with steak and shrimp tacos, hearty nachos, enchiladas and quesadillas, plus a nice selection of pastas, sandwiches, seafood and burgers. El Rodeo makes it easy to satisfy cravings for Tex-Mex favorites like tacos al pastor, carne asada, chimichangas and fajitas. On both Richmond’s West & North sides, El Bronco is the place to go for tasty tacos, arroz con pollo, combination plates and burritos galore. And don’t miss the margarita flights.

Other Wayne County restaurants also put their own unique spins on tacos. The Cordial Cork & Wine Bar hosts a weekly Taco Tuesday special that also includes burritos and nachos — bonus! Another Historic Depot District mainstay, Firehouse BBQ and Blues loads up its mouthwatering Smokehouse Tacos with pulled chicken, pork or brisket before topping them off with black beans, lettuce and shredded cheese. The Red Front Pizza & Grill may be best known for its pizza, but also offers both hard and soft tacos, burritos and a taco salad.

You’ll find even more options to round out a DIY taco trail with the spinach-chicken variation at Roscoe’s Coffee Bar and Tap Room, or the brisket and street-style smoked pork tacos at 5 Arch Brewing. Fricker’s occasionally offers its Frickin’ Street Tacos for limited times only, so catch ‘em when you can. Ole!
