National Road Yard Sales
May 29th – June 2
The National Road – the country’s first major improved highway and one of the main routes for settlers heading west in the 1800s – stretches from Maryland to Illinois and runs right through the heart of Wayne County, Indiana.
Thanks in large part to the efforts of local antique dealer Patricia McDaniel, it also is home to the annual Historic National Road Yard Sale beginning the Wednesday after Memorial Day and continuing dawn to dusk through the following Sunday. This year, the sale celebrates its 16th birthday from May 29 through June 2.
