The heat is beating down on Wayne County! What better to beat it than sampling some of these delicious spots around town to cool off. From ice cream to donuts, chocolate and desserts, everyone will find the perfect treat with a journey around Wayne County!

We can’t start a sweet treat blog without mentioning the Chocolate Trail first! Richmond and Wayne County’s self-guided journey down the Chocolate Trail takes you to a one-of-a-kind ice cream parlor, amish market, candy shops/factories, gift shops and more. Chocolate is featured at each stop and is presented in many different forms – all FREE to sample! Satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth by visiting all 10 businesses located in the passport.
 
While not technically in Wayne County, or Indiana for that matter, Today’s Harvest is just a hop, skip and jump from the border and has a delicious variety of hand dipped ice cream, donuts, fresh produce and sweet treats! To a passerby the building might appear as a simple barn, but inside your taste buds have plenty to try!

20+ frozen flavors await you at Muddy Monkey where you can customize your dessert dreams. Their self-service stations allow you to create your own one-of-a-kind creation from over 20 flavors and 45+ topping options – your imagination will run wild! Whether you’re a typical vanilla ice cream person or your child wants to have banana, chocolate, strawberry ice cream with nerds, oreos and gummy worm toppings, you can’t go wrong with a stop at this creative location!

Ullery’s Homemade Ice Cream has been making real hand-crafted homemade ice cream since 1993! They offer up over 15 flavors of ice cream, floats, shakes, malts and many other specialty items. Their ice cream is made the old fashioned way and has even been featured on Cooking Channel’s “Carnival Eats” back in 2017! New features include edible cookie dough – yes, you heard right – edible cookie dough! No longer will you need to hide behind your parents backs as you sneak a bite of that raw, delicious, gooey, leftover dough! Check out the latest “scoop” on Ullery’s with their recent music video.

You won’t need a golden ticket to enter here! Abbott’s Candy Shop was founded in the 1890s and is nationally known for tasty homemade caramels and chocolates which use the same classical recipes as when they started. A stop here discovers an endless array of mouth-watering sweets that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Every Wednesday from 9-2, free tours are available so visitors can watch how the chocolates and caramels are created.

Brand new and sure to satisfy, is Kings Cafe. A new cafe in the heart of downtown Cambridge City offers up ice cream, homemade cookies, cupcakes, pastries and a delicious menu for a lunch break. Their completely renovated space offers a home-like atmosphere where you’ll feel welcome whether it’s breakfast, lunch or just stopping for a treat!
