The days still have a hint of warmth, while just enough chill to enjoy a local coffee at one of the many locally owned restaurants in the area. The leaves have begun to change into vibrant yellows and oranges, creating a brilliant view as you drive through the area. There is an abundance of festivals, events, and seasonal activities to enjoy. Join in the fun, and experience something that you’ll fall in love with!

Wayne County is like a vibrant painting right now, as the leaves are turning, the view is spectacular! Take in the beauty of nature as you collect leaves from 55 different trees during the ArbLeaf program. The self-guided leaf collecting trail located at Hayes Arboretum, 801 Elks Road, Richmond, offers a unique opportunity to collect and organize your discoveries. The program is running now until October 27th. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5pm. Allow enough time to walk and collect the number of leaves needed.

If the chilly autumn air has you shivering and seeking warmth, Roscoe’s Coffee Bar and Tap Room offers a large variety of choices for any coffee lover and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, a great place to sit down and read a good book while warming up! All Roscoe’s coffee is grown, harvested and processed organically. Offering 2 locations, 185 Fort Wayne Ave. & 4563 National Road East, Richmond.

Let the kids pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve, enjoy a caramel apple, some cider slushies and then take a stroll through the petting zoo! For the adults, Doughtery has a brand new Winery and Craft Beer bar. Enjoy a glass of apple wine made from their fresh apple cider or some craft beer – Autumn Honey (made from their apple blossom honey) or Golden Harvest. Or for a special treat, try the Frozen Apple Wine Slush!
