A Culinary Escape

You are getting hungry…. you are getting very hungry….
Fortunately, you’re in luck! Richmond and Wayne County have everything it takes — and then some — to satisfy any culinary craving. Whether your tastes run toward traditional comfort food, chocolates and sweet treats, barbecue or spicy ethnic cuisines, you’ll find something yummy in this east-central Indiana region that’s sure to fit the bill.
Here are just a few tempting menu options to sample and savor:
A landmark establishment for special-occasion fine dining, the Old Richmond Inn is the local choice for romantic anniversaries, birthdays, date nights and other celebrations. Although the inn’s been in business for 26 years, the charming residential-style building that houses the restaurant dates all the way back to 1892.

Led by the same chef who runs the Old Richmond Inn, Galo’s Italian Grill offers an authentic taste of Italy with lunch and dinner menus that highlight pastas, steak, seafood, soups, salads and wood-fired pizzas. Mangia!

Part of the near-northside Depot District, The Cordial Cork Restaurant & Wine Bar charms guests with historic ambiance, generous dishes worth sharing (although they’re so good, you may not want to!), delectable desserts, signature cocktails, craft beer, wine – beer- bourbon flights, and the most extensive wine list in town.

Another Depot District mainstay, Firehouse BBQ and Blues provides a soundtrack of live music on the weekends to accompany mouthwatering plates of brisket, ribs, wings, chicken, sausage and pulled pork. The character-rich brick building that the restaurant calls home served as Richmond’s first local fire station back in the 1860s.

King’s Café & Bakery in Cambridge City keeps crowds of loyal customers coming back for breakfast sandwiches, home-style entrees, hand-dipped ice cream, home-made pies and other heavenly baked goods. Just around the corner, Lumpy’s Café serves up quintessential Hoosier recipes like thin, crispy pork tenderloin sandwiches and old-fashioned biscuits and gravy.

5 Arch Brewing Company offers a refreshing escape in historic Downtown Centerville. Here you’ll find exposed brick walls, arches and historic photographs adorning the walls. Make yourself comfortable as you sip local brew and indulge in mouthwatering cuisine. A new concept for Wayne County, you won’t see tax charged on your dining receipt and no place for gratuity. That’s because everything is included in the menu price, what you see on the menu is exactly what you’ll pay.
