Levi and Catharine Coffin Interpretive Center Often considered the Grand Central Station of the Underground Railroad, the Levi and Catherine Coffin House in Fountain City sheltered more than 2,000 fugitive freedom seekers on their northward journeys to emancipation. Visitors can see where escaping slaves hid within the Coffin’s modest home and learn more about the efforts of these devoted abolitionists.
