Along downtown Richmond, you’ll find many treats to enjoy. The Bakery offers delectable cookies, cupcakes and crème horns to consider, but don’t miss the “thumbprints” — indented bite-sized nutty cookies filled with a dollop of frosting. Another Richmond Main Street fixture, La Petite Pastry Shop bakes up beautiful from-scratch donuts, cakes, muffins and pretty-as-a-picture French macaroons. Sweet Blessings rounds out its inventory of breads, donuts and baked goods by also serving breakfast  along with mid-day soups and sandwiches.

Not directly on Main Street, but not far from it, the historic Depot District is home to its own collection of sugary temptations guaranteed to satisfy any sweet tooth. Known for its cheesecake and cake by the slice, brownies, and a cobbler of the week, LisaCakes makes a perfect sweet finale to any Richmond visit. If frozen treats are more your speed, order up a scoop, cone or fresh wafflebowl of dreamy Ullery’s Homemade Ice Cream.
