Richmond’s 2025 Meltdown Ice Festival will set the downtown area aglow with more than 22 tons of ice while being transformed into one-of-a- kind masterpieces. This outdoor family-fun event, will put you smack dab in a winter wonderland setting, full of sculptures, kid-friendly activities, and an ice flinging competition and more.

Description: Who serves the best chili in Richmond? You be the judge! Local restaurants will pull out their best recipes for this friendly competition supporting the good work of our community’s nonprofits! Tickets are $10 (cash) at the door.
FEBRUARY 1
Home of the Ice Giants

Description: Discover the ice age giants that once roamed Indiana. Drop in and learn about ice science through activity stations and crafts. View gigantic fossil skeletons first hand.
Ice Cream Eating Contest

Local teams of public employees will battle to the end of the bowl. Drop by the main stage to cheer on your favorite team. Teams have been chosen prior to the festival, but festivalgoers can purchase special Meltdown flavors all at Ullery’s Homemade Ice cream.
