Wood Week 2020 will take place October 12th-17th at Glen Miller Park. Staff from the Parks Department along with a team from the Street Department will be working to take down high priority trees in the park.We're inviting the community to come remove the trees for their own use. In order to do so, participants are required to apply and fill out all of the necessary paperwork. There are a limited number of permits being issued. Each permit can have up to 4 participants over the age of 18 who must ride in the same vehicle to and from the park.No heavy equipment will be allowed, and all rules and procedures must be followed in order to participate.Glen Miller Park will be closed from the 12th to the 17th. We would appreciate the community’s support as we work to improve the health of Richmond’s trees throughout the entire park system.We will begin issuing permits on a first come first served basis on during the week of the 12th at the Park Office located in Glen Miller Park at 2200 East Main beside the playground. The wood will be available on a first come first served at Glen Miller on October 17th and 18th from 8:00am to 3:00pm.There will also be wood available at Mary Scott Park (101 NW 8th Street) from 8:00am to 3:00pm.When the wood is gone, Wood Week will come to an end.In order to learn more about how you can apply, call the Parks Office at (765) 983-7275.
