“Paintings That Make You Smile,” an art exhibit by Richmond artist, Stella Witte, is coming to Cope Environmental Center. There will be an opening reception on Tuesday, August 7, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the M.C. Davis Gathering Place. Light refreshments will be served at the reception and attendees will have a chance to meet the artist. This event is free and family-friendly. Stella has been bringing joy to the community through her paintings for the past three years. During that time, she has had many solo exhibits, won awards, and has sold 320 paintings. Stella says if she sees an animal or scene that brings a smile to her face, that is exactly what she paints. All artwork is for sale, and 30% of the proceeds will be donated directly back to CEC. Reprints and originals will both be available. The exhibit will be on display until Oct. 31. The building is open to the public 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturdays.
